My passion for the water began at the young age of 14 with my first fishing job, I landed my first tuna that year weighing 1195 pounds, and I’ve been hooked ever since. After much hard work and determination, I bought my fishing fleet in 1990 at the age of 24. As captain, with my devoted hired hands, we fished lobster, herring, crab, and blue-fin tuna. Throughout this time, I have accumulated many valuable stories that I hold dear to my heart. Some good, some bad, and some learning experiences that I’ve taken with me through life.
To make ends meet, I took a job in Alberta starting in 2005, working west in the winter and fishing in the summer. In 2012, I sadly had to leave fishing for health reasons. Working out west was not filling my passion for the sea. I missed the water, missed my family, and missed life on Prince Edward Island. Sailing on the water was always my passion and I am happy to allow others to sail with me. My family, wife Michelle, daughter Emma, son Keldan and I welcome you to come aboard Captain Nate’s, and you’ll enjoy the sea just as much as we do!
Captain Nathan
Great food,We enjoyed nachos, oysters and lobster sandwiches (all were delicious and filling) with a drink while enjoying the scenic Murray River. Great place for a good snack and relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit!
Enjoyed delicious lobster nachos and a drink with a beautiful view! Lots of varieties of seafood…cooked or fresh. Nice variety of ice cream for dessert! The river tour (in a very comfy pontoon) was excellent with lots of knowledge and funny stories! An Island must!! Can’t wait to enjoy more sunny days at How Boat This!!!
Great food, great atmosphere! Owner, Nathan, and his staff are wonderful. Can’t wait to get out for a boat tour next. How Boat This is a must-visit if you are in Murray River!! Highly recommend!
Awesome fresh seafood, beautiful view of Murray River! Pontoon boat sail on inland water is scenic and peaceful! Steamed clams were delicious, lobster rolls with fresh shelled lobster, a cold adult beverage and a boat sail with a captain who grew up in the area, what a perfect way to spend a couple of hours! Definitely recommend this venue to everyone!
The highlight of our PEI visit!
We were a group of 9 who were lucky enough to enjoy an amazing day with Captain Nate. From the oysters at the beginning to the eagle and seal sightings at the end, the entire trip was so much fun. Loved the local apple cider and thoroughly enjoyed the Best lobster rolls!! We had a great time and I hope we get to do it again! We bought freshly caught scallops at the dock after our tour which were also delicious! Highly recommend!
Great start to a fun vacation. We had an awesome trip out in Nathan’s pontoon boat. Great atmosphere friendly Nathan was a great story teller and he new his history behind the mussel farms and oysters and he also fished lobsters for many years.
